The following is occurring in Nashville, TN, but it can happen almost anywhere. The
following is an article from the Tennessean:
"The Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency began condemnation proceedings Friday against a
Music Row landowner.
The city agency filed papers in Circuit Court to take over the office of Country International Music at 23 Music
Circle East. Building owner Joy Ford has turned down numerous offers to sell the property, which a Houston
firm, Lionstone Development Group, wants to clear and include in a $100 million mixed-use development.
Ford plans to fight the action, she said.
“I’m very disappointed that MDHA and Lionstone would do this,” she said. “This is America, and I just think it’s
wrong to do this with people.”
Screw you MDHA!
You are not taking this land for a road or utilities. You are taking it to provide to a private developer to sell condos at a
very large profit. This is scary. What if Walmart want your house? You will be screwed.
